This paper looks at the contents of such a translation policy and tries to outline the effects of a general digitalization and globalization of the translation industry. By describing these changes the necessity of a sensible translation technology policy – in the sense of what kind of translation technology should be deployed, used by whom and when, on what kind of texts, etc. – is stressed. Also, the need for an overall strategy with regard to translation data and language resources in general is addressed and integrated into the concept of an overall translation technology policy.}, }
